My first project as a full-time summer marketing intern for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Elkhart County was to redesign the marketing strategy for KidsCare – A Division of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Elkhart County. This mainly involved coming up with a fresh look for their brochures, as well as creating a new registration packet and parent handbook.
Creating the brochure was honestly really fun! I was able to go full creative mode and let my mind go wild with ideas. To some, brochures are out-dated, and just plain old school. But to many parents, as well as donors, brochures are preferred over a URL. They enjoy having something they can physically hold – it also makes it easier to “zoom” in and out.
After I developed the new brochure, I was tasked with drafting up a brand new registration packet and parent handbook. Both items involved working heavily in partnership with the KidsCare Billing Coordinator, Jen Defrees. She is the expert on KidsCare, and was able to provide me assistance by reviewing all the legalese I had written for all the new documentation. After all the content was created, I went back into design mode and put all the information into an easy to read, clean, modern PDF for parents to download from the bgckidscare.org website.
Below you can find PDF copies of the brochure, registration packet, and parent handbook I created.
